Unclaimed assets include cash, rebates, paychecks, stocks, and bonds that businesses have not managed properly. Property becomes unclaimed when owners do not contact the holder for a specified period, often due to forgetfulness or relocation. Oklahomans can check for unclaimed property on the State Treasurer's website and must provide proof of identity to claim it. Non-cash items are mailed certified, while other properties are delivered via check.
